Maria Zissopoulou and Dimitra Economou present characteristic works of their recent work. Their individualized visual writing and viewing interacts and self-imposed, creating a new visual system that has as its central axis the interaction with the viewer. Both having references to geometric abstraction, they redefine the medium using abstract qualities and emphasize the superiority of pure emotion in depiction and composition. They are based, albeit with different colour media, which creates a fruitful counterpoint, on expression that aims to depict the abstract and the subject through painting. They reject the idea that something must exist in order to paint and reaffirm that painting is something existing. It just happens. Maria Zissopoulou's keen interest in the purity of form through geometry and the use of the archetypal white and black is demonstrated in characteristic works in the exhibition. While Dimitra Economou constructs a bold architecture of colour contrasts that creates not only an orderliness but also challenges boundaries.
